Lessons: Early Years - Parent & Tot - Preschool 4

Skating lessons run in two 5x lesson sets; October to November and November to December. Registration for the second set of lessons starts on February 6th at 6AM after the set assessment day to ensure students are registering for the correct lesson level for the next set.

Preschool Skating 1


A class for children with very little or no skating experience. All children wear skates for the first class. They will learn the basics of ice safety and to stand and skate by themselves in an encouraging environment.

Preschool Skating 2


This class is for children who can skate independently. Skills include gliding, two-foot jumps, making snow, and walking backwards. Prerequisite is Preschool 1

Preschool Skating 3


Children will learn skills in this course including v-pushes, one foot gliding, two-foot jump while gliding, walking backwards with some glide, two-foot quarter-turns on the spot, and stopping. Prerequisite is Preschool 2

Preschool Skating 4


Skills children will learn in this course include: two-foot glides on a curve, walking crosscuts, backward sculling, and backwards stopping. Prerequisite is Preschool 3

Preschool Skating Parent & Tot


First time skaters get comfortable on the ice with an adult. Parents and children are required to wear a helmet for programs.
